Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the My Parm website and the wheel adoption program. By reserving or adopting a share, half wheel or whole wheel, or by using this website, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
My Parm is operated by NYD, napredne zdravstvene rešitve d.o.o., a company registered in Ljubljana, Slovenia ("My Parm", "we", "us"). Contact: hello@myparm.co. The cheese is produced by an independent member dairy of the Consorzio del Formaggio Parmigiano Reggiano; we are not affiliated with the Consorzio.
2. Who can adopt
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. During the founding release we ship to addresses in the United States. By placing an order you confirm the information you give us is accurate.
3. The adoption program
An adoption is a one-year plan that gives you (a) an entitlement to the quantity of Parmigiano Reggiano described in your plan (a share: about 3 kg a year in two boxes; a half wheel: about 19 kg; a whole wheel: one wheel), (b) a digital certificate carrying the matricola number of the wheel assigned to you — a wheel that has passed the Consortium's 12-month inspection, (c) your name engraved on that wheel, and (d) cuts taken from that same wheel as it ages, plus updates from the aging room as described on the site. Where a plan runs for more than one year, later boxes come from the same wheel at the ages shown on the site; if your wheel is exhausted or withdrawn, we assign another wheel of the same age. An adoption does not transfer ownership of a wheel, of milk or of any part of the dairy: you buy cheese and services, not property. Cheese is a natural product: weights are approximate (±10%), and a wheel that fails the Consortium inspection is replaced with another wheel made in the same month at no cost to you.
4. Prices, payment and renewal
Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude shipping, import and any sales tax, which are shown at checkout. During the founding release your payment method is charged when the release closes; you may cancel at no cost at any time before your first box ships. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; we never store your card details. Plans renew automatically every twelve months at the then-current price for your plan. We email you at least 14 days before each renewal, and you can cancel renewal at any time from your account or by writing to us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current plan year and there is no pro-rated refund for the remainder of a plan year already started.
5. Shipping and import
Each box is cut and vacuum-sealed at the dairy and sent by express courier to the address in your account. A shipping and import fee of $39 per box applies to share plans; half and whole wheels ship by freight and are quoted at checkout. US import duties and FDA prior-notice filings are prepaid by us. Transit time is usually 3–5 business days. If a box arrives damaged or does not arrive, tell us within 14 days of the expected delivery date and we will replace it. Keep the address in your account current: we cannot replace boxes sent to an outdated address you did not update before dispatch.
6. Refunds
You can cancel for a full refund at any time before your first box ships. After your first box has shipped, your plan runs for the year and is not refundable, except that we refund or replace boxes that are defective, damaged in transit or missing, and we refund billing errors and duplicate charges. Refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval.
7. Your name on the rind
The engraving holds up to 17 characters: letters, numbers, spaces and the characters & ' . - are accepted. You may change it at any time before the engraving date shown in your account. We refuse engravings that are offensive, that infringe someone else's rights (for example a brand name you do not own) or that impersonate another person, and will ask you for an alternative. Engraving is done by hand on a natural rind; small variations in depth and spacing are normal.
8. Allergens and storage
Parmigiano Reggiano contains milk. It is made from raw cow's milk, salt and rennet, and is aged for at least 24 months. Refrigerate it on arrival and consume opened pieces within the period printed on the label. Vacuum-sealed pieces travel safely for about a week without refrigeration.
9. Gifts
If you adopt as a gift, you remain the account holder and the person responsible for payment; the recipient receives the certificate and the boxes. Gift certificates included in a half-wheel plan may be used by anyone with a US shipping address.
10. Content and conduct
The text, photographs and illustrations on this site belong to us or our licensors and may be used only for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt to access it other than through its public interface, or impersonate anyone.
11. Liability
We are liable for the cheese and services we sell as described in these terms and as required by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any plan year is limited to the amount you paid us in that year. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death, personal injury or fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia, without affecting the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the state or country in which you live. If a dispute arises, please write to us first; we aim to resolve every complaint within 30 days. Disputes that cannot be resolved this way are decided by the competent court in Ljubljana, Slovenia, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect and never apply retroactively to a plan year already paid for. If a provision of these terms is found invalid, the rest remains in force. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use My Parm, why, and what rights you have. The data controller is NYD, napredne zdravstvene rešitve d.o.o., Ljubljana, Slovenia. Contact for privacy matters: hello@myparm.co.
1. What we collect
When you reserve or adopt: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number for the courier, the name you want engraved, and your plan and payment history. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, not by us. When you use the site: your IP address, device and browser data, pages viewed, and, if you accept them, marketing cookies and pixels from Meta and Google that let us measure our ads.
2. Why we use it
To fulfil your adoption (contract): assign and engrave your wheel, ship your boxes, send the certificate and updates, and provide support. To meet our legal obligations: invoices, tax and customs records. For our legitimate interests: keeping the site secure, preventing fraud and understanding how the site is used. With your consent: marketing emails and advertising measurement. You can withdraw consent at any time from any email we send or by writing to us.
3. Who we share it with
The partner dairy in Italy receives the engraving text and, for boxes shipped directly from the dairy, your shipping details. The courier receives your name, address and phone number. Our payment processor, email provider, hosting provider and analytics or advertising platforms process data on our behalf under contracts that require them to protect it. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Where it is stored and for how long
We store data in the European Union. Transfers to service providers outside the EU rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. We keep account and order data for the life of your account plus the period required for tax and accounting records (in Slovenia, ten years for invoices), and marketing data until you withdraw consent.
5. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it and to opt out of its sale or sharing; we do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the advertising measurement you can decline in our cookie settings. To exercise any right, write to hello@myparm.co. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (Informacijski pooblaščenec) or to your local supervisory authority.
6. Cookies
Essential cookies keep the site working and remember your reservation. Measurement and advertising cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top tells you when it last changed, and material changes are emailed to account holders.
